Our son observed and mentioned to his friend that there is such a difference between going to the funeral of a believer and going to the funeral of a non-believer. There is a hope and a peace that the Christian has that is not present otherwise.
Neither my DH or I were able to attend the service. My husband had a meeting he could not get out of (with the Bishop!!) and I had a Doctor's appointment that I had already rescheduled twice. We certainly were there in spirit and will continue to pray for the family.
