This week Idol was especially enjoyable for me. I am a BIG fan of most of Andrew Lloyd Weber's music and hearing the contestants sing his songs was wonderful.Syesha started the night with a WONderful rendition of "One Rock and Roll Too Many" from Starlight Express. She was great. David Archeleta changed things up a bit with his version of "Think of Me" from Phantom. For me the highlight was David Cook singing "Music of the Night" from Phantom. It gave me chills. It was a different side of him and he won me over!
Carly rocked the house with "Superstar" from Jesus Christ, Superstar. Brooke and Jason did a good job but not their best.
Hubby and I thought we had the results figured out but BOY were we wrong! We couldn't believe it when Syesha and Carly were the bottom two. They had given such stellar performances the night before. Then Ryan gave the results.......Carly would be going home! You know someone always has to go but it is still surprising which one it is each week. Carly was very gracious. Simon told her she could leave with her head held high and she thanked them all for their comments and suggestions.
Next week......Neil Diamond!! Now THAT will be fun too!!
